What’s your favorite candy?
My favorite candy is an oldie but goodie, Brach’s Jelly Nougat. I remember as a child my great grandmother and I would head to the grocery store where they sold them in bins by weight. I was also a butterscotch candy fan so both went in the bag. I still think about those bins of sugary goodness, all wrapped in crinkly plastic, when I go food shopping now. I wish they were still there stuck at the end of an aisle.
They are hard to find now so I took matters into my own hands. I made a homemade version for my family this past holiday and it was a hit. Not quite the same as the original, but brought back memories of my great grandmother. She had a sweet tooth as well and was always ready to try one of our kitchen experiments. I think she would have approved.
